First Multicultural Sorority in Nevada
The Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Psi at UNLV is one of eleven chapters of Sigma Theta Psi Sorority (ΣΘΨ). Our chapter was founded by seven remarkable women who saw the need for a sorority at their college campus that would wholeheartedly embrace cultural and ethnic diversity. They brought ΣΘΨ to campus on June 7th, 2003, which became the first multicultural sorority in the state of Nevada.
Anti-Hazing Policy
Hazing is the degradation or endangerment of a person as a condition of association with a particular group or organization.
Not only is hazing illegal, but it also goes against the principles our sorority stands for. We believe a sorority should create trust, not resentment, between its members and soon-to-be members. For these reasons, ΣΘΨ prohibits hazing and any other activity that violates university policy or federal, state, or local law.
